We are Candace & Christine, founders of Arris Interiors and best friends since the age of eight. This is the studio we talked about building as kids, and the one we’ve spent over a decade proving was worth building.

How it started

We Met on a School Bus.
We Ended Up Here.

We were eight years old when we met. Both bus patrols on our country school bus, a role we took very seriously, and we quickly found we had a lot in common beyond that. We spent our childhoods rearranging Barbie furniture, running through the fields behind our houses, and somewhere in between, we talked about going into design or architecture together one day.

We forgot about that conversation for years.

Fast forward to adulthood. Candace had built her own interior design business. Christine was juggling a corporate marketing career and a side design hustle, both of us looking to build something that felt uniquely ours. The solution was obvious, even if it took us a while to say it out loud.

In 2016, we made it official. Arris Interiors was founded. A partnership built on decades of trust, shared vision, and complementary expertise. That childhood conversation we’d both forgotten came rushing back.

What started as a conversation between two eight-year-olds had, in many ways, been leading us here all along.

Some things, it turns out, were always going to happen.

Arris Interiors is a full-service interior design and project management studio working with builders, developers, and businesses across Ontario. We design spaces from concept to completion and manage every detail along the way, so our clients never have to wonder whether the finished space will match the vision.

We stay involved from the earliest planning stages through to the final walk-through. We provide your trades with the documentation they need to build to spec, manage procurement, protect budgets, and hold the standard at every step.

Over the past decade we’ve worked across three industries: multi-unit residential development, new home construction, and commercial design. The projects change. The approach does not.

Founder & Partner

Candace brings over a decade of hands-on interior design experience with a specialization in construction project management. She leads with a functionality-first mindset: the belief that a space only works when every decision, aesthetic or otherwise, serves the people using it. She is the one in the room who sees the whole picture before anyone else does.

Christine Schmidt, BFA, Business Administration

Founder & Partner

Christine brings the business discipline and operational rigor that keeps every project on time, on budget, and on brief. With a combined background in fine arts and business administration, she balances creativity with execution at every stage. Her approach shapes how Arris manages every client relationship: clear communication, structured processes, and full accountability from concept to completion. She is the reason ideas are translated into beautifully executed spaces, without anything falling through the cracks.
